REDMOND, Wash. Sept. 13, 2011 --- Pagemark Technology, Inc., a leader in document, digital information and brand protection solutions, including counterfeit prevention, authentication, and mass serialization, today announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Accesos Holográficos, located in Mexico City, Mexico, to address the growing problem of counterfeit in High Value Documents. This agreement will allow Accesos Holográficos to deploy Pagemark’s Pelta 2D based covert barcode technology in a wide range of security applications.

“Accesos Holográficos is an industry leader in the development of security solutions and applications to protect Valuable Documents.” said RanDair Porter, President of Pagemark Technology. “By licensing the Pagemark Pelta solution, Accesos Holográficos, adds very effective anti-counterfeit capability to Accesos Holográficos robust portfolio“.

“The Pelta™ Solution is an innovative approach which achieves the strict requirements of a highly effective document authenticity solution while at the same time provides simplicity in deployment and authentication,” said Rafael Artasánchez, Managing Director of Accesos Holográficos.

Pelta codes are secure machine readable 2D barcodes which retain baseline characteristic and functionality of a standard 2D barcode while including covert features.

Many available document authentication technologies today rely on special paper and inks and require specialized equipment or lenses to verify authenticity. The Pelta system is unique and provides ease of authentication by use of ubiquitous smart phones, web cameras or desktop scanners running specialized reader software.

Pagemark Technology will be demonstrating PELTA at the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Seventh Symposium and Exhibition on MRTDs, Biometrics and Security Standards on September 12th, 2011 at in Montreal Canada.
